General Meeting Information

The NANS Mid-Year Meeting is a nonsmoking event. Infants and children are not allowed in sessions or in the exhibit hall. Mobile devices must be turned on vibrate during educational sessions. Please be courteous to your fellow attendees. Dress is business casual. As in past meetings, a professional photographer may take photos of attendees at the NANS Mid-Year Meeting. These photos are for NANS use only and may appear on NANS’s website, in printed brochures, or other promotional materials. Attendee registration grants NANS permission and consent for use of this photography.

Meeting Location

Registration, exhibits, educational sessions, and the paper poster session will take place at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort.

Pre-meeting courses on Thursday, July 15, 2021, will take place at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort and the AdventHealth Nicholson Center.

Do I need to be a member to attend?

No, but the registration rates are reduced for members. You can become a NANS member at the time of registration in order to qualify for member registration rates.

How do I register for the meeting?

You can register for the meeting by visiting the 2021 Mid-Year Meeting website. Registration opens in May.

Can I register onsite?

Attendees must register in advance. Capacity is limited, so make sure to pre-register as soon as possible.

What is included in my registration fee and what is extra?

Your basic registration fee includes all plenary sessions, thematic oral abstract sessions, concurrent sessions, and exhibit hall access at the Mid-Year Meeting. Attendees also are invited to attend the welcome reception and paper poster session at no additional charge. All of the Pre-meeting courses that take place on Thursday, July 15, 2021, are an additional fee.

I will be unable to attend the entire meeting. Do I have to pay the full registration?

NANS offers 1-day registration for the Mid-Year Meeting at a discounted rate from the full meeting registration. Only one 1-day registration is allowed per registrant. If you will be attending more than 1 day of the Mid-Year Meeting, you will need to register for the full meeting.

Does submitting an abstract register me for the Mid-Year Meeting?

No. Meeting registration is a separate process that is required for all presenters, including accepted abstract presenters. 

How can I confirm that I am registered?

Your meeting registration confirmation and additional meeting information will be e-mailed once your registration has been received and processed. If you do not receive a confirmation within 3 weeks of submitting your registration, please call NANS at 847.375.4714.

What types of CME Credit does NANS offer?

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) and the North American Neuromodulation Society. The CNS is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.

How do I collect my CME certificate or Certificate of Attendance?

Shortly after the Mid-Year Meeting takes place, NANS will e-mail you with a link to claim your CME credit and obtain your certificate. Included will be a link that will take you to your account. The Meeting Evaluation Portal will ask you to complete the overall evaluation and review each session you attended. Your certificate will be available for printing or downloading once you have completed the overall evaluation and the session evaluations. 

What is the cancellation policy?

All cancellations must be made in writing. A $100 processing fee will be charged for all cancellations received 14 or more days before the event. Refunds will not be made under any circumstances on cancellations received after July 1, 2021. NANS reserves the right to substitute faculty or to cancel or reschedule sessions due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If NANS must cancel the entire meeting, registrants will receive a full credit or refund of their paid registration fee. No refunds can be made for lodging, airfare or any other expenses related to attending the meeting.
